RPG Bigby's

R.P.G. (Ransack People's Gold) is the tale of four D&D/Star Wars/RPG players and their DM, who wishes he were a player. These intrepid players are, from left to right:
Kenneth, the over-achieving, yet under appreciated DM.
Adam, the guy who has a theater background but needs a girlfriend.
Barry, the munchkin power-gamer with a bad case of arrested development.
Josh, the straight-laced guy who just wants to play the game.
Kassi, Josh's homicidally-minded younger cousin, whom he regrets inviting.

*Update* I decided to change the pacing with a second panel and I threw in some of the new variant poses (so you have an idea what I've been up to). I'm debating whether or not I want to do cell shading for the cast. It is a huge addition in work (which makes further alterations harder to do) and I think the flat colors for the characters makes them stand out more (which I think is important). Let me know what you think of the change.

*Update* I've made a few mods and had enough additional poses to do a joke. I'm debating having cell shading or not (tell me what you think). Anyhow, this strip features one of the longer blocks of flavor text I've used in my campaign which includes a riddle. *FYI, read top to bottom.*

Here is a preview of the gaming table of a group whose wacky hijinks I am planning to chronicle in the form of a webcomic which I will update sporadically on DA.

Playing in Kenneth's apartment, they will do various jokes based primarily on retarded stuff I've seen in tables I've played and or run over the years. They represent a fairly wide spread of insane so I should be able to give you all a sampling of the best moments of the games I've seen.

The characters are digitally inked pencil sketches and I think I will probably use cell shading or a very simple paint job for them (I'll have to see what matches the BG best). I may have to tweak the contrast and color balance some to make it look right. The table is covered with modified images from the internet which have been run through filters and outlined.

In the comic itself I will do like Knights of the Dinner Table and recycle a handful of modified versions of the images. I'm experimenting with doing a comic which is front loaded with work (and I have been working on this for two months already). If I can pull it off and figure out the logistics then I may be able to more easily do other projects in a similar way. I wanted to be able to do a comic where I can plug in a few precreated images and concentrate on dialogue and timing by themselves.

Anyhow, if you've got ideas/suggestions for the comic or about the art drop me a line. I'll update this image as I get decent chunks of work done on this project, eventually I plan to update this to make it the first stand alone comic.
