The result of many hours of work, my new ID is ready. It started with a few reference photos of yours truely (which got edited, sketched over, printed, inked, rescanned, colored, etc). I used Dynasty Warriors and Warhammer Fantasy Battles (High Elves) as primary influences for my designs. I have a unfinished version posted here which contains a more detailed explaination of the process and there are a number of scraps related to this pic. There is a lot of subtle detail which will be hard to see with the size of the ID but oh well. I look forward to hearing what you all think.

Yeah, old sunshine sure made a great avatar. But I may grow to like this new one in time too. I've got to admit I do think that it at least looks reasonable like me. When I first started blogging I used a Pat Lee painting of Dante from Devil May Cry and it rocked but it was not me (even though I thought it fit well enough). For now I'm just happy I found a way to eliminate the little white thingies that were surrounding my small avatar.

I think one of my main motivations was to NOT work on some of the other stuff I'm artistically stumped on.
