*Update*

I decided to go with blond hair instead of black or white, mostly for contrast. Again, this is my 4th Edition Living Forgotten Realms character, Munnin. She's an Invoker of the Raven Queen who is very strongly flavored towards battlefield control. She regularly does a complete minion sweep of in the first round. She has also kept an entire battlefield of skirmishers from moving far enough to get bonus damage. This controller has caused several LFR DMs to develop a nervous twitch.

Personality wise, she's a fairly boring. She has a monstrous Perception and Insight so she mostly observes and reports. Her purpose is to turn the wheel, passing souls to her mistress. Most of the time she's a bit creepy, but she really has morbid interest in funerary rites.

Awesome. The shading on her is just so smooth, I can't keep from staring at it!

I never saw the white/black debate going on, but I think the yellow works extremely well.

Also, I love the background. Very well done all around.

Thanks. Photoshop gives me a lot of tools to clean up my work.

I'm happy with the level of contrast the hair gives.

The misty look is pretty simple but it does work well with the feel of the picture. Glad you like it.

Yes, I love Photoshop :) Though having tools and knowing what to do with them are two very different things! Your gallery as a whole is a testament that you indeed know how to use them.

Thanks. I was lucky in college to know a bunch of actual art students who shared similar interests that I could swap techniques and tutorial links with. These days I think there are a lot more groups and sites with large catalogs of such tips. DA seems to have a pretty good community of tutorial makers from what I've seen.

I went to college for art but was going for graphic design with an advertising focus. I learned a lot about Photoshop and Illustrator, but not as far as digital painting goes!

I only dabble myself but I don't mind sharing what I know.

Thanks. Sometime when I get some more feats I'll probably either multiclass into shaman to have a spirit companion raven named Huginn or multiclass arcane to get a bird familiar similarly named.

At 6th I could retrain her 2nd level feat, distant advantage, for Student of the Sword (and retrain Endurance for History taking Endurance from the feat) and take a Raven Arcane Familiar for her 6th level feat (since LFR allows multiple retrainings per level now). That way she has the familiar and the skill that fits the theme.
