Since we are playing 2nd Ed we were advised to have backup characters ready to go for when our character failed some save or die attack or other. Here was my first backup character. At the time our rogue was flubbing rolls left and right so I built a fighter/thief so I could still get multiple attacks with a good THACO but also do sneaky stuff. I liked the idea of her being a former slave who was taken from Elven lands as a child and raised as an assassin in human lands. I was planning on having her services being paid for by the party's patron and having the character bond with the party because they aren't total @ssholes like her previous employers. After having our cleric/mage replaced by a rogue/cleric we had much less need for another thief so I scrapped my plans to use her as a backup.
