Half-Elf Mage Wallpaper by mindflenzing Half-Elf Mage Wallpaper by mindflenzing
It's been a productive weekend for me. This is due in large part to my having called in sick Friday and getting a jump start on all my weekend to do list items. I have another pic also which I'm debating inking (of two wind elementals). This unnamed character you may recognize from this pic [link] . I drew her during a meeting this afternoon in order to not fall asleep. With the colors I agonized over the idea of adding green but could not find a balanced way to do so and ended up with all warm colors. Most of the work is fairly standard though I tried something new with the fire and the lines of the hair (not to mention bringing back the large partially opaque double technique from my RE wallpapers). I'm happier with this one overall than with my last dark elf ranger wallpaper. I may eventually use this pic for a Pyromancer mage in D&D LFR.

Thanks. I'm rather fond of the blend of strong and fluid in the pose myself.

Cool mage! I love red.
This girl reminded me blood elf.

Thanks. I was definitely going for the same color scheme as the blood elves.

Whoa! Love the red and gold! Very eyecatching! She'd make a good counterpoint to your blue and black ranger.

Thanks. I kinda think of all the WPs with the Anduris Map for a BG as a series of sorts, and I think I will do some more and play around with color perhaps in some different ways.

Warm colors are fine for this one. It looks pretty good all in all. I like the costume design, the color scheme, and making the blade red is a nice touch. Although I think your fire should be more yellow given the amount of light you have it generating. The background is pretty tight, I really want to learn those techniques so that I can create similar backgrounds.

Thanks. You're right about the fire, it would have also helped to distinguish it from the figure, oh well, live and learn.

As to the BG, you've already seen the image I use, made it partially opaque and added layers on top of it with a base color and circular gradients and played around with the opacity and layer type (i.e. soft light, screen, color, etc).
